Casar de Burbia Nemesio is a tribute to the values of effort and hard work that allow dreams to come true. The dreams of that 6-year-old boy, Nemesio Fernández, who one day dreamed of owning a winery after hearing that his voice was stronger inside a barrel.
Nemesio is a single-vineyard wine, made with grapes from the high-altitude vineyards of Viña San Salvador, in the Barreiriñas area. A wine with its own unique character, created to savor the allure of Bierzo.
To avoid interfering with the subtlety and delicacy of the grapes from this vineyard, we use very short macerations and ferment with their own yeasts in small tanks. We then age the wine for approximately 18 months in open 225-liter French oak barrels from the Allier and Troncais forests.
