Almudena Alberca MW, Technical Director and Spain's first female Master of Wine , is responsible for creating honest wines that express the land from which they come and are full of character. Under her guidance, Bodegas Viña Mayor has become the symbol of contemporary Ribera. 

The modernity of the building, which houses the production and aging facilities, blends with the tradition of the underground wineries. This space, hidden underground, covers a much larger area than the surface buildings due to an almost obsessive focus on the ideal aging temperature, which aims to keep the thermometer between 15 and 16 degrees.

With ten hectares of vineyard on the estate itself, Bodegas y Viñedos Viña Mayor is committed to collaborating with the best local growers through long-term contracts, allowing quality to be controlled from the vineyard and ensuring an optimal level of fruit health and ripeness.
