Tasting notes

It appears clean and bright, with a beautiful cherry red color with violet hues. It has a medium-high intensity.

Tremendously expressive and intense. Notes of blueberries, currants, cassis, damson plums and cherries in liqueur predominate along with aromas of graphite and licorice and subtle nuances of blue flowers and undergrowth. Hot spices such as cloves and black pepper and sweet spices such as cocoa also appear.

The entrance is powerful, dense and with great richness. Its tannins are present but ripe. Very long, persistent and elegant. It exhibits a formidable acidity.

17 - 18ºC.

Description

16 months in Allier French oak barrels.

Vineyards aged between 80 and 110 years were selected, with extremely low yields and grapes of the highest quality. It is produced only from the finest vintages, when the vineyard fully expresses the character of the terroir of “The New Era of Rioja,” which had just been born.

A pioneer and forerunner of what would later be known as “wines of high expression.” Following the success of its debut in a market eager for high-quality wines, countless wines began to emerge in the footsteps of Barón de Chirel, gaining a strong following among the most discerning customers.
