Description
A-Villeira 2021 is the purest and most elegant expression of a historic vineyard situated on terraces of decomposed granite, hand-built in the 19th century. This limited and carefully managed edition aims to capture the essence of its origin: the inhospitable, high-altitude environment of As Ermitas, with its poor soils and cool climate, yields exceptionally ripe and balanced grapes.
After a manual harvest and whole-cluster fermentation in oak barrels, the wine remains in contact with the wood for a year, which adds structure without masking the fruit. The presence of indigenous varieties contributes complexity, while Mencía provides the fresh, mineral character.
A-Villeira 2021 is a subtitle of Galician viticulture, a blend of innovation and tradition, and represents Virxe de Galir's commitment to the authenticity, landscape and expressive intensity of its wines.
