Description

The legend of LUIS FELIPE begins in 1893 with the discovery in a cellar in La Palma del Condado of some oak barrels containing an aged brandy unlike anything known until then.

Those almost forgotten barrels were marked with the mention LUIS FELIPE because they had been reserved for the Duke of Montpensier, son of the King of France Louis Philippe I, who resided in the Sevillian palace of San Telmo until 1890.

Since its discovery more than a century ago, LUIS FELIPE has maintained its magnificent range of excellence thanks to artisanal aging and very limited production.

LUIS FELIPE ages using the traditional "soleras" and "criaderas" process in American oak casks arranged in "cachones" or "andanas", one on top of the other.

The oldest distillate is found in the casks closest to the ground, called "soleras", from which small quantities are extracted for bottling, without emptying them completely.

The removed contents are replaced with younger distillate from the upper level casks, called "criaderas", in which it has remained for years.
