Tasting notes

Appearance

A complex opening where peat and tar smoke mixes with aromas of smoked ham, pine honey, dark berries and an unusual floral touch reminiscent of rose water or jasmine.

Nose

In the mouth it is unctuous and powerful. There are waves of medicinal smoke followed by espresso, black olives, dark chocolate and baked rye bread. Persistent and somewhat dry finish. Notes of ash, warm pepper and a refreshing touch of menthol or eucalyptus stand out towards the end.

Description

This whisky is a carefully selected "marriage" of two types of maturation:

- Cabernet Sauvignon barrels: From the prestigious Napa Valley, they contribute notes of red fruit, velvety tannins and a spicy complexity.

- Classic ex-bourbon barrels: They provide the sweet, vanilla and American oak heart characteristic of Ardbeg.
