Alonso Cuesta Winery

Alonso Cuesta Winery

For more than 100 years, the Alonso Cuesta family has been dedicated to the world of wine.

The first winery was created in the year 1920, in La Torre de Esteban Hambran, a small town located in the northwest of the province of Toledo and located in a unique space, an old palace built in the mid-16th century by D. Diego de Vargas, minister of King Felipe II.

The winery is located in a unique space, an old palace from the mid-16th century. The French oak barrels are kept at a constant temperature and humidity throughout the year.

In the 1950s, the father of the current owners, Mr. José María Alonso, built a winery that remained until the year 2000, when his sons, the Alonso Cuesta brothers, set out to revitalize the old winery and modernized the facilities with the most advanced techniques, but with a deep respect for tradition and natural processes.

Thus, “Bodegas Alonso Cuesta” was established, a small family business whose objective is the production of unique wines. Here, hard work, dedication, and a love for the vineyard make it possible to create highly original, high-quality wines, protected under the Méntrida PDO. The objective is guided by a clear idea: to present the market with wines that reflect the family's philosophy of effort and care—virtues that we believe are reflected in our wines.

The proximity to Madrid and Toledo, and being located in a unique space, make our winery a very attractive place to visit and taste the wines, a visit that reflects, in the same way as the wines, a friendly and relaxed treatment.
